Man Bag

My hubby packs all of this important "stuff" around on Sundays to a bazillion meetings all day long. He started coming home stating his hands were too full and that it would be nice to have some type of bag to carry it all in.

So, I neatly stacked all of his things, and measured all sides of the stack. Then, I converted my dimensions into about how much yardage I would need taking into account how wide the bolt of fabric was (I used one yard of a 60" wide canvas without waste). I purchased my fabric from an online store, and designed the "Man Bag."

I took some cardboard boxes leftover from our online Christmas shopping. Yes, I LOVE shopping on Amazon.com and getting everything in packages 2 days later.

I used an exacto knife and cut 2 pieces of cardboard the size I wanted the bottom of the bag to be. Then, I stacked them on top of each other.

I doubled all of my canvas fabric to make the bag sturdy, and I reinforced the handles. When I sewed up the bag, I left an opening in the bottom to insert the cardboard, then sewed it closed.

Because of the cardboard in the bottom, the bag retains its shape when it is empty.

It is also more durable when the bag is full.

Everything fits neatly!

Here is a close up of one of the handles.

I used gray thread to accent some of the stitching.

Packed up and ready to go...

in a manly fashion!
